Interested in Vocational School

Attention Freshmen & Sophomores interested in attending the vocational school as a Junior or Senior:

The Boone County Area Tech Center (Vocational School) is hosting an Open House for prospective students on Tuesday, September 26 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  This is a great opportunity for students and parents to see what the ATC is about, what they have to offer and meet the staff.

Financial Aid Seminar

Attention students and parents, Boone County High School will be hosting a Financial Aid Seminar on Tuesday October 3 at 6:30pm in the library.  Bob McDermott from KHEAA will be speaking on how to navigate the FASFA and how to pay for college.  No RSVP necessary.

Scholarship Opportunity

The Kentucky Federation of Republican Women grants a $1500 scholarship to a college bound high school senior female has been politically active within the Republican Party.  Please see attached for scholarship details, application and submission deadline.

PSAT

PSAT is being given at BCHS on Oct. 11 during the school day.  This is open to all current 9, 10, and 11th graders.  The cost is $20.  The PSAT can qualify you to be in the National Merit scholarship program.  Please turn in registration form and money to the guidance office.

CERT Testing

All Boone County High School students in grades 9 – 11 and some in grade 12will be taking the CERT test over the next two weeks This test will help all high school students and teachers identify academic areas of strength and areas for improvement in Reading, English, Math and Science.

The CERT is designed to prepare students for the rigor, time constraints and testing environment of the ACT while giving teachers and students valuable information about a student’s progress toward mastering College and Career Readiness Standards. After students take the test, teachers and students will be analyzing their results, identifying next steps and tracking their progress.

Horatio Alger Association Members and Friends Scholarship

The Horatio Alger Association Members and Friends is currently accepting applications for need-based college scholarships to support deserving young people overcome their adversity and pursue their dreams through higher education.  Scholarship amounts range from $2500 to $25000.  Please see attached for requirements and directions to apply.  Submission deadline is October 25

AES Engineering Scholarship
